About Us

Welcome... To the Get Hooked web site.  Our Westcountry Fishing site has been running for 20 years and has been developed on the success of the paperback publication The Get Hooked Guide to Angling in South West England, now in its’ 18th edition, published in partnership with the Environment Agency and Angling Trust. The 18th edition published in November 2013. In 2009 The Environment Agency sent over 50,000 copies of the paper guide free to every household in their South West area that bought a licence in the Post Office or by Direct Debit in 2008. The Environment Agency Fishing Byelaws section on the site contains up to date (2013) information on national and regional byelaws. Having produced the guide for almost 20 years years we know that the vast majority of information on this site will be accurate. However, as always, we recommend you check with the fishery if in any doubt. The Get Hooked web site gives you access to the most complete and up to date information available for over 900 fishing venues - game, coarse and sea - throughout the south west. This information covers species, weights, prices, clubs, charters and more. All our data on fisheries is fully searchable making it easy to find (say) all venues in Cornwall with Perch, or even venues with fish over 40lb (subject to information supplied).

Search our Fishing Directory The site also has sections for advertisers offering accommodation, fishing, charters, tackle and tuition. This enables additional information to be displayed as well as photographs and links to external websites. Add your fishery If you know of any Westcountry fisheries, clubs or charters that are not in the guide please let us know. You can email us ([email protected]), phone (01271 860183) or use the form on this website. Please take the time to do this as an entry in the guide and on this web site costs absolutely nothing and we are very keen to maintain the quality of the information we provide.

Submit your Westcountry Fishery/Charter/Association The sport of angling is still growing. More participants, more promotional events, cleaner rivers, more lakes, greater awareness of the benefits of angling - socially and economically. It is a fact that fishing is good for you! There is nowhere, possibly on the planet, that offers the diversity and quality of fishing we do here in the westcountry. From world renowned rivers such as the Hampshire Avon to lakes such as Chew and Blagdon and a truly incredible coastline we really have it all! If you get the chance to introduce someone new to the sport - grab it! Make sure they catch a fish and neither of you will ever forget the experience.

Enjoy your fishing Jane, Mandi & Graham
