Newton Abbot Fishing Association has twelve waters in the Newton Abbot area, which offer some of the best coarse fishing in Devon. With over 400 members, we welcome new members, but you must live within a 20 mile radius of Newton Abbot to apply for Full Membership. There are no restrictions for Associate Membership. Day tickets are available for many of our waters offering some great fishing for the visiting angler.Rackerhayes Complex - consists of 6 waters:
Island Pond: A lake of about five acres open to all ticket holders. Stocked with mixed coarse fish: Tench over 6lb., good sized Carp, Roach, Rudd, Pike, Bream and Eels.
First Pond: About two acres and open to all ticket holders. Stocked with a good head of Carp to 20lb, Tench, Roach, Bream and a few Pike.
Wheel Pond: Fishing dawn to dusk only. No bivvies and no boilies. Open to all ticket holders, but juniors have priority. With 20+ pegs to choose from this water is stocked with Carp to 10lb, Roach, Rudd, Perch, Tench, Crucian Carp and occasional small Pike.
Linhay Pond: No boilies on this water. Open to all ticket holders, this water is approximately three acres in size. Well stocked with mixed silver fish, especially Bream and Tench which can go up to 7lbs +.
Dores Pond: Available to Full members only. The largest of Newton Abbot’s waters at about nine acres. Floating platforms on this water are available for members over 18 years. Stocked with selected Carp some of which are over 30lb. There are also Bream to 9lb. and a good head of silver fish and Perch. The Club record tench came from here at 11lb 14 oz.
Weedy Pond: Open to all ticket holders. Weedy is about one acre in size and is stocked with variety of coarse fish. The Carp go to low doubles and there are some decent Tench.
Fishing at Kingsteignton is also available to the club.
Key Transport: Available to Full Members only. This is a popular match venue. The water holds Bream, Roach, Rudd, Perch Tench and some Crucians.
Eddison Pond: Available to all ticket holders. Eddison is a small water holding Tench, Crucians and some reasonable Carp.
Sawmills: Available to all ticket holders. This water is about three acres coloured by runoff from local clay works but don't be put off! Carp to low 20’s are regularly caught here. There is also a good head of Bream, Roach Tench and Perch.
Bradley Pond: Available to Full Members Only. A former clay pit of about four acres outside Bovey Tracey. A popular match and carp venue holds Roach to 2lb, Perch to 4lb, Tench, Skimmers, Carp to over 20lb. Bream and the occasional Trout.West Golds Newton Abbot: Available to all ticket holders. A tidal water that is incorporated in the flood defence system of the local area. Extreme care should be taken here, flash tidal flooding is common. The water holds Dace, Roach, Skimmers, Mullet and Carp and is a quiet venue where all methods work.Wapperwell: Fishing from dawn until dusk only - junior members to be accompanied by adult over 21 years of age. This pond is about an acre in size and is stocked with Skimmer Bream, Roach, Rudd, Tench, Crucians and Carp. Ideal for the pleasure angler.Charlecombe: Dawn to dusk fishing only. Available to all ticket holders. This water is near Combeinteignhead. It is a shallow water holding Carp to about 20lb. along with Tench, Roach, Rudd and Crucians.
