Exeter & District Angling Association has a good match following with regular competitions for club members and open competitions for the visiting match angler. Matches are held throughout the year, with fortnightly and Sunday competitions, in addition, during the summer month's there's a Wednesday evening series and an active inter-club match series and a mini winter league (Devon 4's).
The Association also enters a team in the prestigious, National and regional angling championships, in the past, E & D A A members have been extremely successful in these high profile angling competitions and on two separate occasions the Exeter club has produced winners of the Divisional National Championships.
Carp anglers are well catered for with numerous waters on offer with quality carping available in and around the Exeter area; whilst nearly all have carp present; some of the waters however, are better suited for the dedicated carp angler. Please see our website for full details of the clubs waters.
Nearly all Association waters have pike present; and as you would expect, some are better than others for the predatory pike. To the North & North West of Exeter there are the Rivers Exe, Creedy & Culm, all hold good numbers of pike and regularly fall to static, or wobbled dead bait, perhaps the most popular method is roving with artificial lures. The River Culm frequently produces fish in the 10-15lb bracket with the occasional larger fish also caught, the more popular areas being either Beare Gate or Silverton.
